The project we are proposing is the result of in-depth consideration of how to create a welcoming, sporty, and harmonious space specifically designed for residents. It is primarily aimed at children, placing their comfort, safety, and sensory development at the heart of its design. The building's location takes advantage of its geographical setting. Its urban positioning opens the building onto the wooded hill, thanks to the new shared urban mall, designed as a true public square. The architecture, sober and legible, combines a mineral base and two light-filled volumes bathed in natural light. The entrance is sheltered by a large, curved canopy, which, like a protective gesture, invites users to enter.
Inside, the layout is simple and intuitive. Traffic flows are optimized, the atmosphere is pleasant, and each space benefits from natural light and controlled acoustics. Natural light plays a key role, energizing the spaces throughout the day and revealing the architectural subtleties. A central tree-lined patio plays a key role: it provides light, cools in summer, and creates a visual link between the different functions. It diffuses a peaceful and soothing atmosphere, offering pleasant and reassuring views from all interior spaces.
From a technical standpoint, the project aims for high environmental performance: use of bio-based materials, rainwater management, high-performance envelope, and energy efficiency. Our goal is to create a low-impact building, a new sustainable swimming pool designed to last.
In short, this architectural project is much more than just a municipal swimming pool. It is a place for living, meeting, and learning to swim, where architectural poetry meets functional rationality. It offers true coherence between the urban environment, the landscape, and its uses, and will provide the city of Baccarat with a lively and identifiable place that is deeply focused on its inhabitants.
